Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that people of Karnataka have rejected the "politics of hate" after his party secured a handsome victory against the BJP in the state elections.
Speaking to reporters outside the Congress headquarters in the national capital, Rahul said that Congress's victory is the victory of the people of Karnataka.
"I would like to congratule the people of Karnataka and the Congress workers as well as leaders in the state. In Karnataka, Congress stood in support of the poor. What I really liked about this election is that we didn't fight the polls with hatred. We fought the elections with love," he said.
He added that Karnataka showed the country that that people here like the "language of love".
"This is a victory for the people of Karnataka," he added.
The Congress is headed for a big victory in Karnataka after securing leads in 138 seats in the 224-member House, as per the current trends. The ruling BJP, meanwhile, is ahead in 62 seats.
